Horners Award for Plastics

The winning entry was Syclix surgical instrument entered by injection moulders, Sovrin Plastics of Slough which was set to revolutionise minimally invasive surgical procedures.

The eminent surgeon John Wickham inspired the concept and Random Design Ltd. took care of the design detail.

Sovrin Plastics masterminded the project, being responsible for the toolmaking, moulding and final assembly of the product. For the first time, the Livery had the help of media partner 'Mould Technology', a quality journal from the plastics industry.

The award was presented to Peter Wigmore - Business Development manager of Sovrin Plastics at the annual Horners Award dinner by the Lord Mayor of the City of London at the Mansion House, London.
